CDs Are Now Distributed By One Company & It’s Not Universal Music

February 13, 2012 – It was reported that 82% Of U.S. CDs Are Now Distributed By One Company & It’s Not Universal Music, this is an astonishing reality that the music business is changing, in all sectors.

A Knoxville, TN based company, Anderson Merchandisers will be handling all of the distribution for Universal Music Group (UMG), Sony Music Entertainment and EMI, three of the four major labels.

Charlie Anderson, CEO of Anderson Merchandisers released a statement in which he said, “a more efficient, cost-effective distribution system helps” are making CDs a viable alternative again. “We will continue to work with the labels to help them realize that making music available at an affordable price is a good business decision.”
